We’re Working To Make Marshfield Great!
News-Herald Media has been a part of the community for more than 80 years. We don’t just report on our community—we live, work, and raise our families here. Whether feeding the hungry or pitching in to clean up our neighborhoods, our people have a passion for giving back to the area we call home.
Annually, News-Herald Media provides thousands of dollars in in-kind advertising and numerous hours of volunteer service in our community. Below are just a few of the programs in which we lead the effort.
Stock the Shelves Campaign: Annually News-Herald Media hosts this community challenge in which we bring to light the hunger needs of those in our community. The 2014 campaign generated nearly $3,600 for local pantries/food programs.
Make A Difference Day: Sponsored by Gannett’s USA WEEKEND, the largest national day of helping others brings together millions the fourth Saturday of every October. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, News-Herald Media helped rake local senior citizens lawns as well as provided books to the local clinic for distribution through the United Way.
Crystal Apple Awards: News-Herald Media has been a proud sponsor of the annual Crystal Apple Awards which honors local educators within the market for their dedication to the educational needs of the local area students.
Gannett Foundation: Across the nation, the Gannett Foundation distributes millions in grants and matching employee donations. Locally, we distribute thousands every year to local organizations. Recently, we’ve supported the United Way and YMCA.
